What WeddingIsLive does, what it will not do, and what you can expect once it opens.
Can I sign up now?
Not yet. WeddingIsLive is in development and not open to couples. There is no launch date.
Does it send the WhatsApp messages for me?
No. It prepares the message, with the wording, the table and the map, and hands it to WhatsApp. On a computer that is WhatsApp Web; on a phone, the share sheet. You press send.
Because you send it, the app never shows whether a message was delivered or read. It does not know, so it does not pretend to.
Do my guests need an account?
No. Guests never log in. They reply to you on WhatsApp as they do now, and you record the reply in three taps while WhatsApp is still open.
Can my partner use it too?
Yes. You both work on the same wedding. If you both edit the same party at once, the second save shows a conflict and keeps that person's edits on screen. Nothing is silently overwritten.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes for the guest list, recording replies, sending messages, viewing the floor, seating a party at a table and the Day view. Drawing and editing the floor needs a computer with a window at least 1240 px wide.
What does "tentative" mean?
A guest who has said something like "should be fine" but has not confirmed. Each guest is coming, tentative, pending or declined. Coming and tentative guests can be seated; tentative seats are shown dashed so you can see at a glance which tables might change.
Is there a dashboard?
No. There are exactly two places: Guests and Seating. The same record is behind both, so a party's table never disagrees with itself.
Can I bring my spreadsheet?
Yes. Paste it or import a CSV; a preview shows matches and duplicates before you confirm. You can export the list as CSV any time.
What does the venue get?
A whole-room seat map image and a table-by-table list, for the venue and the reception desk. Each party gets its own "your table" message with a map of the room.
What happens on the wedding day?
Open the Day view on a phone. Type any name and the table number fills the screen, with the head table marked.
Is it in Chinese?
The app is in English and Traditional Chinese. Message wording comes in idiomatic Cantonese or English.
What if I delete something by mistake?
Deleted parties and guests can be restored for 30 days.
What is my wedding's address?
Each wedding lives at its own address, like ruby-ricky.weddingis.live.
Is it for wedding planners or venues?
No. It is made for the couple planning their own banquet. Planners, venues and guests do not log in.
